These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of www.odjectstudio.com and any purchase you make from us. By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.
Please read them carefully.
If you do not agree, please do not use the website or place an order.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by Odject Studio, trading as Odject Studio, a sole proprietorship registered in the Netherlands.

References in these Terms to "we," "us," and "our" mean Odject Studio.
References to "you" and "your" mean the customer.
2. Applicability
These Terms apply to every offer made by Odject Studio, every order placed through our website, and every agreement concluded between Odject Studio and a consumer. By placing an order, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time you place your order will apply to that order.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.
3. Our products
We design and produce limited-edition design objects in our studio in Amsterdam. Every product is made in small batches by hand. Slight variations in tone, finish, and surface are part of the process and are characteristic of the work, not defects.
Product images on the website are intended to give an accurate impression of the work, but the color and texture of the finished piece may differ slightly from what appears on screen.
Specifications, dimensions, and materials are stated as accurately as possible on each product page. Minor variations in measurements may occur and are within the normal range of small-batch production.
4. Orders and contract formation
You can place an order through the website by adding products to your cart and completing the checkout process. Before you confirm your order, you will have the opportunity to review your selection, the total price, shipping costs, and delivery information.
A binding contract between you and Odject Studio is formed when we send you an order confirmation by email. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order in the following circumstances:
The product is no longer available
The price or product description contained an obvious error
We cannot verify your identity or payment
We reasonably suspect fraud or misuse
If we cancel an order for any of these reasons, you will receive a full refund of any payment already made.
5. Pre-orders
Some products on our website are offered on a pre-order basis. When you place a pre-order:
Payment is taken at the time of order, not at the time of shipping
Your order is reserved in the sequence in which it is received
The estimated delivery date is stated on the product page
The estimated delivery date is a target, not a guarantee — production timelines can shift, and we will keep you informed if there are material delays
You may cancel a pre-order at any time before it ships, for any reason, and receive a full refund. Simply contact us at info@odjectstudio.com.
Once a pre-order has shipped, the standard right of withdrawal applies (see Section 9).
6. Prices and payment
All prices are shown in euros (€) and include VAT where applicable. Shipping costs are calculated and clearly displayed before you complete your order.
We accept the payment methods displayed at checkout. Payment is processed securely by our payment provider; we do not store your card or bank details.
If a price on the website is obviously incorrect — for example, due to a typing error or system fault — we reserve the right to cancel any order placed at the incorrect price and refund any payment.
7. Delivery
We deliver to the Netherlands and across the European Union. For destinations outside the EU, please contact us before ordering.
Estimated delivery timeframes are stated on the product page and in your order confirmation. We make every reasonable effort to meet these timeframes, but cannot guarantee them. If delivery is delayed by more than 30 days beyond the estimated date, you may cancel your order and receive a full refund.
Risk of loss or damage passes to you upon delivery to the address you provided. If your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days of receipt with photographs, and we will arrange a replacement or refund at no cost to you.
You are responsible for providing accurate delivery information. If a delivery fails because of incorrect or incomplete address details, we may charge the cost of redelivery.
For destinations outside the EU, you are responsible for any applicable import duties, taxes, or customs fees.
8. Ownership
Ownership of the product passes to you when we have received full payment and the product has been delivered to you.
9. Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer purchasing for personal use, you have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of receiving your order, without giving any reason. This is your statutory right under EU consumer law (the herroepingsrecht under Dutch implementing legislation).
To exercise your right of withdrawal:
Notify us of your decision to withdraw within 14 days of delivery by sending a clear statement to info@odjectstudio.com. You may use the model withdrawal form included at the end of these Terms, but you are not required to.
Returning the product:
After notifying us, you must return the product within 14 days. The product must be in its original condition, unused, and in its original packaging. You bear the direct cost of return shipping.
Refund:
We will refund the full purchase price, including the original standard shipping cost, within 14 days of receiving the returned product or of receiving proof that you have shipped it back, whichever is earlier. Refunds will be made using the same payment method you used for the original order.
Reduction in value:
If the returned product shows signs of use beyond what is necessary to assess its character and function, we may reduce the refund accordingly to reflect the reduction in value.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal:
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
Products that have been made or customised to your specifications
Products that have been installed and used as a permanent fixture in a way that prevents them being returned in original condition
10. Warranty
All our products carry the two-year statutory warranty for consumers under EU and Dutch law (the wettelijke garantie). This means that if a product is found to be defective or does not conform to the contract within two years of delivery, you are entitled to repair, replacement, or refund, as provided by law.
The warranty does not cover:
Damage caused by improper installation (including installation by a non-qualified electrician where the instructions required one)
Damage caused by misuse, accidents, modifications, or normal wear
Damage caused by use of bulbs that exceed the maximum wattage stated in the instructions
Cosmetic variations characteristic of small-batch production (see Section 3)
To make a warranty claim, contact us at info@odjectstudio.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and photographs.
11. Installation and safe use
Our lighting products are real ceiling-mounted electrical fixtures. They must be installed in accordance with the instructions provided and in compliance with local wiring regulations.
We strongly recommend that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician. Odject Studio accepts no liability for damage, injury, or loss arising from:
Installation that does not follow the provided instructions
Installation carried out by a non-qualified person where the instructions required a qualified electrician
Use of incompatible bulbs or accessories
Use of the product outdoors, in damp environments, or otherwise outside the conditions for which it is designed
12. Liability
We are liable for damage you suffer as a direct result of a breach of these Terms or our legal obligations, to the extent provided by Dutch law.
Our liability is limited to the purchase price of the product concerned, except in cases of:
Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
Any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Dutch law
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, including loss of profit, loss of use, or damage to other property, except where Dutch law does not permit such exclusion.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes your statutory rights as a consumer.
13. Intellectual property
All content on our website — including designs, photographs, text, logos, and graphics — is owned by Odject Studio or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, copy, distribute, sell, or otherwise use any of this content without our prior written permission, except for personal, non-commercial purposes such as viewing the website.
The design of our products is protected. You may not produce, sell, or commercialise copies, replicas, or derivative works of our designs.
14. Force majeure
We are not liable for failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms when the failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control — including but not limited to natural disasters, power outages, supplier failure, transport disruption, pandemics, government action, or industrial disputes.
If a force majeure event delays our performance by more than 30 days, either party may cancel the affected order and receive a full refund.
15. Privacy
Your personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.
16. Complaints
If you have a complaint about a product or service, please contact us first at info@odjectstudio.com. We aim to respond within five business days and resolve complaints as quickly and fairly as possible.
If we are unable to resolve a complaint to your satisfaction, you can submit it to the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
17. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes arising from these Terms or from your use of our website will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
If you are a consumer resident in another EU country, this clause does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
